Happy Spring and YIKES, almost Summer!

How it got here so fast is truly an enigma wrapped in a conundrum. Here in Knights Valley the grapes are thriving but slowly due to the amazingly cool weather and abundance of rain. It is early yet to know what type of growing year we will have but so far, so good. We will keep you posted.

Synonymous with Summer is of course Events! And Events for us is Synonymous with “Yay, a chance to meet you in person”! Here are two upcoming events for you to come see us:

CigarBQ 2010:

This event will be held in the beautiful Saralee Vineyard. The date is June 19th, 2010 so be sure to put it on your calendars. Wine, Food and for all of you Humidorians Cigars!!

Malibu Calabasas Food and Wine Festival:

This event is sold out but if you already have tickets please stop by and see us. This event is also on June 19th, 2010 and promises to be an amazing day of Celebrity Chefs, Wineries, Breweries, et al!

We will have more to announce shortly and in the meantime be sure to check our events calendar under news and events for the other upcoming tastings that we will be participating in .

Beyond that, we wish you a wonderful Summer filled with great food and wine (and maybe a beer or two thrown in for good measure)!

Spring, 2010 sprung a few surprises on us this year in the form of a late frost in Knights Valley. In order to protect the vines two predominant methods are used: Water and Wind. Our neighbors are using wind machines and in this segment we are using sprinklers to wet the vines so that they will freeze. Frost temps are much colder than freezing…Crazy huh?
